Maryvale Homestead Cemetery

The Council records list these headstones as those from the Maryvale Homestead Cemetery.  The Anglican Church St Albans now stands where once the Maryvale Homestead stood.  As the last burial in the cemetery was prior to 1900 the headstones are probably in no way actually associated with this particular church.  In actually fact we found the headstones a long way from the church and the sign that read Homestead Cemetery.  All of the headstones were in a state of utter disrepair almost to the point of being totally illegible.  If this spot was not their original resting place they had certainly been there for what appeared quite a long time.  Unfortunately with no street names the only way to find the headstones is to ask the locals.   To view a photo of a headstone just click on the surname of interest.  If you would like a higher resolution image of any photo just send us an email.   (ktish64@gmail.com)

Note:  A big thank you must be given to Sue Dixon who provided information to fill in quite a few gaps in the transcriptions we did for this cemetery
